Deputy Director General of the National Sports Authority, Abdul Majeed Bawa has revealed that certain competitions for the 13th African Games will not be ticketed but rather be free to spectators.

Bawa Majeed , who doubles as the Venue Manager at the Borteyman Sports Complex, made this known when giving an update on happenings on the Games that will also have a bulk of competitions held at the renovated University of Ghana Stadium at Legon.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports, Bawa Majeed said,

“I want to use this particular medium to appeal to the people of Ghana, this is the very time we have to show to the world that we love sports. I encourage everybody to at least participate in one or two of the events, go there in your numbers and with your families.  It is not all the games that will be ticketed.

Bawa Majeed

“Those that will be ticketed are few, so you can go there. There will be a fan zone at Boteyman and Legon, while the competition is ongoing .”

13,000 participants with 5000 athletes are expected to participate in the 13th African Games happening in Ghana from March 8 to March 23 2024.
