Ghana's Rose Yeboah won gold in Women's High Jump at the 2023 African Games

Ghana high jumper Rose Amoaniwaa Yeboah’s impressive 2024 season continues with the Ghanaian star athlete chalking another first place finish of the campaign.

Yeboah won gold at the ongoing African Athletics Championship in Douala, Cameroon by clearing a height of 1.87 metres.

The clearance earned her back to back gold medal wins after her gold medal winning feat at the previous competition held in Mauritius two years ago.

Yeboah, who has already qualified to compete at this year’s Olympic Games, won gold at the African Games held earlier this year in Accra, Ghana.

She is one of 18 athletes representing Ghana at the championships that serves as a qualifier to the Paris Olympic Games.

Her win comes on the back of Ghana winning the bid to host the next Athletics Championship in 2026 after making a successful bid to host the competition at the University of Ghana. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

Nigeria’s national record holder Temitope Adeshina won silver while Fatoumata Balley won bronze in the competition.
