On Day One of the Channel One TV National Swimming Championship, held at Accra’s Borteyman Sports Complex, there was a vibrant display of aquatic prowess as more than 200 swimmers from various corners of the country took to the pools.

This prestigious event, now in its eagerly anticipated second edition, featured competitive swimmers representing a total of 12 distinguished teams, all vying fervently for coveted national recognition.

Amidst an atmosphere charged with enthusiasm and anticipation, organizers, proud parents, and avid supporters converged at the Aquatic Centre to witness the young athletes exhibit their exceptional talents and determination. The championship, meticulously conducted in accordance with the rigorous regulations set forth by both World Aquatics and African Aquatics governing bodies, affirmed its status as a premier platform for nurturing and showcasing swimming excellence.

As the sun set on the exhilarating first day of competition, the tally of achievements saw the GH Dolphins and Legon Sharks emerge as frontrunners, each proudly securing an impressive tally of 10 medals, setting the stage for an electrifying continuation of events on day two on Sunday July 14, 2024.
