According to French sports media outlet L’Equipe, Samed is on the radar of EFL Championship side AFC Sunderland with a season long loan deal on the table.
After starring in the 2021 season, Samed has fallen down the perking order at French Ligue 1 side RC Lens due to a mix of poor form and injuries.
After the opening game of the 2024-2025 season, Lens head coach, William Still, stated that Samed was part of a group of players moved to the reserve team.
Samed played 35 games in all competitions in the 2023-2024 season with most of his appearances coming off the bench.
However, the EFL Championship side has emerged as a major destination for Samed who could follow the footsteps of former Black Stars players John Mensah and Sulley Muntari, should the move materialize.
Sunderland lead the Championship standings after bagging a 4-0 win over Sheffield United and a 1-0 win over Burnley ahead of a league tie against Portsmouth.
