A late turn around in the transfer business has prevented Ernest Nuamah from completing a deal to Fulham from Lyon.
Ghana Black Stars winger Ernest Nuamah was announced to have joined English Premier League side Fulham Football Club from French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon.
The former Right To Dream Academy product reportedly joined Fulham on a 15 million pound deal with add-ons included according to The Athletic.
Citi Sports gathers that Nuamah landed on the transfer radar of Fulham after the London side’s pursuit of talented French international Rayan Cherki fell through.
Nuamah completed his medical and reports suggested that personal terms had also been agreed on between the club and the speedy winger.
In a subsequent move since the Ernest Nuamah deal was signed, Lyon moved on to sign former Crystal Palace winger Wilfred Zaha.
In his first season with Lyon, the 20 year old played 39 times where he scored seven goals and registered three assists.
Nuamah recently missed out on a spot in the Black Stars for 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger due to injury.
Nuamah scored in Ghana’s 2-1 win over Mali in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Update: Ernest Nuamah • Lyon to Fulham, deal stalled due to late switch by #FFC for Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson. Nuamah agreed club to club & medical done but player not signed before move made for Nelson.
