Gideon Fosu, Chairman of the Black Princesses Management Committee, has tagged head coach of Ghana’s National Under 20 Women’s Football Team, the Black Princesses, Yusif Basigi as a “collaborative coach”.
He said this in an exclusive interview with Channel One Sports in the lead up to the Black Princesses departure from Ghana to the United States of America to compete in a series of friendly games.
The friendly games form part of the Black Princesses preparation to compete in the 2024 FIFA Women’s Under 20 World Cup in Colombia.
Ghana has been drawn in Group E with Austria, New Zealand and former World Champions Japan in the tournament that runs from August 31 to September 22.
After witnessing first-hand the multiple training sessions of the team at the Cape Coast Stadium, Fosu praised Basigi’s collaborative qualities stating,
“Yusif Basigi is a very collaborative coach. I think Basigi listens to advice a lot. I always tell everybody, I enjoy working with him…It’s been a very good relationship I think Basigi is a very good coach.”
Ghana has missed out on qualifying from the group stage despite making six consecutive appearances at the Women’s Under 20 World Cup.
