Black Princesses Management Committee Chairman Gideon Fosu has stated that his main objective is to get Ghana’s National Women’s Under 20 Football Team to progress to the Round of 16 stage at the 2024 Women’s Under 20 World Cup.
He said this in an exclusive interview with ChannelOne Sports before the Black Princesses left Accra for the United States of America to play friendly games before moving to Colombia to compete in the World Cup.
This year’s Under 20 Women’s World Cup runs from August 31 to September 22 and after describing Princesses head coach, Yusif Basigi, as a “collaborative coach”, Fosu talked about his objective for the team. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
“Going into this tournament, I think the aim is to move past the group stage and then take it game after game so that has been our motivation so far and that has been the story for all the girls, for the technical team and for everybody that has been part of the team…so we are working hard towards that.”
Ghana is in Group E with Austria, Japan and New Zealand. The top two automatically progress to the next stage with two best third placed teams also progressing.
