After winning the Champion of Champions Cup, FC Samartex 1996 head coach, Nurudeen Amadu, says he is anticipating a tough season as the team prepares to defend its Ghana Premier League title.
Samartex, competing in its second year in the Ghanaian top flight, won the league title and has progressed to the second round of the CAF Champions League.
The Samreboi club beat FA Cup Champions Nsoatreman FC 1-0 to win the Champion of Champions Cup at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa and Amadu believes successfully defending the league title will be tough.
“Preparation is going on elsewhere. You can talk about Medeama, you can talk about Kotoko, Hearts, everybody is coming strongly so I anticipate a very tough season. I’d have to anticipate that we are now a force to reckon with and so any match will be a grand finale for us so we have to prepare ourselves very well because it’s not going to be easy” he said to Max TV.

Samartex take on Dreams FC on Friday, September 6 before taking on Moroccan giant Raja Casablanca on Friday, September 13 in the CAF Champions League second round.
Deputy captain Ebenezer Acquah had an excellent game at the newly-built TnA Stadium in the game against Nsoatreman yesterday.
Acquah was an absolute colossus at the back for FC Samartex, playing a huge role as the leader on the pitch as well as performing his core duty as a pic.twitter.com/CRaAF9Tozd
