Ghana forward Inaki Williams has reacted after making history in the Spanish La Liga this past weekend for Athletic Bilbao.
The 30 year old Ghana international, bagged a hat-trick of assists in Bilbao’s 3-2 win over Las Palmas away from home.
The win was more impressive considering Bilbao played with 10 men after Mikel Jauregizar was dismissed in the 56th minute.
Inaki assisted Oihan Sancet, Nico Williams and Aitor Paredes’ goals in the seventh, 30th and 76th minute respectively at Gran Canaria.
By registering three assists in the game, the Black Stars player became the first player in La Liga to bag a hat-trick of assists in a game since 2005.
Reacting to the news of his historic feat, Inaki Williams wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) page, “Luck sometimes helps, work always”.
Inaki’s top performance comes on the back of featuring twice in Ghana’s 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger. Ghana missed out on a win in both games.
Williams is yet to score in the 2024-2025 La Liga season after five games; Bilbao take on Leganes next on September 19. Scroll down to view social media post.
