Head coach of Karela United, Jimmy Cobblah, has praised Kumasi Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Mohammed Camara for his outstanding performance against his side.

Karela lost 1-0 to Kotoko at the Naa Salerigu Sports Centre in the opening game of the 2024-2025 Ghana Premier League season for either team.

Camara pulled off a string of fine saves to prevent Karela from getting an equalizer; Camara stepped in for regular starting goalkeeper and captain Frederick Asare who is on national duties with the Black Stars.

Speaking after the game to Max TV, veteran trainer Jimmy Cobblah was impressed with the Man of the Match Award winner.

“The first half was for Kotoko and they got a goal. The second half was for Karela but they defended gallantly and we luck eluded us. In football, you always need a bit of luck to win your games and luck eluded us today. I will congratulate them for defending well especially their goalkeeper, he really won the game for them today.”

Karela United next take on Berekum Chelsea on September 15 in Berekum.

Your warrior of the match 👏
