Head coach of Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team-the Black Stars-, Otto Addo, believes that his side deserved at least a draw in its matchup against Angola.

He said this in a presser after Ghana lost 1-0 to Angola in a 2025 AFCON qualifier at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

Both teams largely struggled maintaining possession on the very bumpy pitch which was a situation that drew the attention of Otto Addo and Angola head coach Pedro Goncalves. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

Felicio Milson scored in additional time to end Ghana’s 24 year old unbeaten run at the Baba Yara Stadium and Addo believes that his team deserved at least a draw from the game.

“We were lucky maybe a little bit even though we deserved to win in Mali I think but there we scored the goal and now it’s Angola who scored the goal and I think at least a draw would have been deserved but this is football.”

Ghana beat Mali 2-1 in Bamoko in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June.
