Head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, says he was happy with the performance of Sudanese striker AbdoelKarem AbdoelRahman Yoouef Yagoub on his debut.
Yagoub made his debut for the Porcupine Warriors in Kotoko’s 1-0 win over Accra Lions in the Ghana Premier League at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.
The win is Kotoko’s second in a row and takes Dr. Ogum’s team to the summit of the league; AbdoelKarem Yagoub is one of two Sudanese players Kotoko signed in the lead up to the 2024-2025 season. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
“I must say I was impressed because we gave him an assignment; because they play out from the back, the assignment we gave to him was that when the goalkeeper plays with one of the centre backs…he should just cut one angle off so that it makes (the) play predictable.”

“If you looked at him carefully, he did that very well. He is also very good at pressing trying to make sure that he puts pressure on the opponent.”

Albert Amoah scored the winner over Accra Lions in the 48th minute.
