Ghana shines on Day 1 of Africa Aquatics Zone II Swimming Championships

The 2024 Africa Aquatics Zone II Championships kicked off with a splash at the Aquatic Center in the Borteyman Sports Complex, with Ghana’s top swimming stars making waves on Day 1.

The prestigious three-day event, which features athletes from 19 countries, is being organized under the guidance of Africa Aquatics and the Ghana Swimming Association.

Team Ghana, fielding some of their brightest talents, delivered outstanding performances in key swimming events.

Harry Stacey, Joselle Alice Mensah, Nubia Adjei, Ivan Snowden, and Naima Kankam all stepped up to the challenge and competed fiercely against some of the continent’s best.

In the Women’s 100 LC Meter Freestyle, Joselle Alice Mensah lived up to expectations, while Nubia Adjei showcased her skill with a strong performance.

On the men’s side, Harry Stacey impressed in both the 100 LC Meter Breaststroke and the 200 LC Meter Freestyle, proving why he is one of Ghana’s most promising swimmers.

As the event continues, Team Ghana is aiming for a strong finish, determined to solidify their place as a swimming powerhouse on the continent.
