Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has stated that his team’s ability to create chances is a sign that his outfit is playing well.

He said this in a post-game interview after Kotoko beat Accra Lions 1-0 at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium to go top of the 2024-2025 Ghana Premier League standings.

The win is Kotoko’s second in a row at its temporary home venue due to renovation works taking place at the Baba Yara Stadium. Last season, Lions beat Kotoko 3-2 at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Despite creating 16 chances and registering four shots on target, Albert Amoah’s strike served as the match winner but Dr. Ogum downplayed the profligacy of his team.

“I think when a team is creating chances, it’s a good sign that the team is playing well so once we are creating the chances, I’m very sure that going forward, they will start scoring. It’s not the best that you create about 17 chances and you score one out of that, it’s not the best.”

Kotoko head coach Dr. Ogum

“On the other side too, it means that the team is very offensive. We just have to keep working on it, give the boys confidence so that they can be composed in front of goal and score.”
