Ahead of Ghana’s crucial 2025 AFCON qualification games against Sudan, Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo has stated that getting the best out of Antoine Semenyo and Inaki Williams is very challenging.

He said this in a pre-game presser when he announced the 25 man squad set to take on Sudan in a double header on October 10 in Accra and on October 15.

FC Samartex defender Isaac Afful was one of two Ghana Premier League players included in the squad with Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s Frederick Asare returning to the squad. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

Despite having Semenyo and Williams in brilliant form for AFC Bournemouth and Athletic Bilbao respectively, both have largely struggled to replicate the same for Ghana’s Black Stars and Addo termed this issue as “challenging” considering both forwards operate best when operating from the right wing.

“It’s always a challenge with how and what position players play at their club level and then also in international level with their international team, it’s always a challenge. You know, it’s not about the player, it’s about the team.”

“We have to see what is best for the team. We as a staff, as a coaching staff have to think about the best possible solution and where we can think each of our players can harm our opponents as much as possible and this is what we are looking for.”
