West Ham United manager Julen Lopetegui has called for his players to stay calm in bad moments when reacting to Mohammed Kudus’ sending off in the English Premier League.
Kudus got sent off after receiving a straight red card in the 86th minute for striking Tottenham Hotspurs players Micky Van De Ven and Pape Sarr. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
The Black Stars midfielder’s conduct was deemed as a violent one after a VAR review; Kudus was shown a yellow card initially for the incident. It is his first red card as a player in the EPL.
The red card marked a sharp turn in fortune for Kudus and West Ham as the Black Stars player scored his second goal of the season in West Ham’s 4-1 loss to Spurs despite a 1-1 draw at halftime.
For under fire West Ham manager Lopetegui, the Spanish manager believes that the incident is something his team can learn from.

“I did not see the action back on TV but I think that if the referee reviewed it and decided that it was a red card then I cannot have a doubt. Maybe it is another point to improve, when we suffer in the bad moments we keep calm and fight to the end as a team” Lopetegui said to the BBC.
