Black Stars head coach Otto Addo will continue in his role despite overseeing arguably Ghana’s worst qualification campaign ever and is expected to present a technical report to the GFA EXCO on November 27.
This comes on the back of a meeting involving members of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council after the Black Stars terrible 2025 AFCON qualifiers campaign.
Ghana completed the qualification campaign in last place in Group F after failing to win a game in six outings. Angola and Sudan ranked first and second respectively to qualify to next year’s tournament that takes place in Morocco next year.
The future of the former Borussia Dortmund scout was high on the itinerary of issues discussed at the meeting that GFA President Kurt Okraku was present.
Otto Addo has attracted the ire of several Ghana football fans over the Black Stars failure to qualify to the AFCON for the first time in 20 years.
With his stay confirmed, the former Black Stars midfielder is expected to lead Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification games against Chad and Madagascar.
