Chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee, Wilson Arthur, has stated that financial benefits for clubs competing in the championship will be improved in the 2024-2025 season of the tournament.
He said this in an exclusive interview on Channel One TV’s Football Made in Ghana ahead of the Round of 64 games set to be played out this weekend.
In the interview, the veteran football administrator stated that fans of the competition should expect more live draws at various stages of the competition outside Ghana’s capital, Accra. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
On the financial benefits clubs are set to get via participating in the competition, Wilson Arthur stated that despite a deficit the committee is facing, clubs will benefit more financially than last season’s competition.
“It’s been difficult bringing on new sponsors. Star Times used to contribute $80,000 for this competition but this season, they withdrew their support so we have a deficit but still this season we are improving even what we gave the clubs last season.”
Nsoatreman FC are defending champions of the MTN FA Cup.
