Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club delivered a top performance to get past lower tier side Immigration FC and advance in the MTN FA Cup.
Hearts beat Immigration FC 4-0 at the University of Ghana Stadium on Sunday, December 1 to qualify to the Round of 32 stage.
Mawuli Wayo scored twice in the win with Martin Karikari and Stephen Appiah Asare added goals to round up the big win despite Hearts’ slow start to the game; Karikari’s opener was registered in the 53rd minute.
Hearts excelled on a day a handful of Ghana Premier League teams lost in surprising fashion to crash out of the competition at the Round of 64 stage.
Access Bank Division One side Dormaa Unity FC stunned Aduana Stars with a 2-1 win to pile more misery on Aduana who recently sacked head coach Yaw Acheampong following a bad run of results.
