Co-Founder of Spintex Knights Basketball Club, Dr. Eric Opoku-Antwi, has stated that the club will adopt a better recruitment strategy for the club’s future trip to the Basketball Africa League (BAL).

He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports in the aftermath of Knights debut BAL run that had the Accra Basketball League champions make it to the Elite 16 stage of the continental basketball championship.

Knights recently successfully defended the Accra Basketball League title by sweeping Nungua Coldstore in the 2024 season. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“For us, our biggest deficit was that we were very small (size-wise) and if given the chance next time, we will do better recruitment because we’ve seen what the level is and we will match up to it” he said.

By making it to the Elite 16 stage, Knights became the first Ghana club to progress from the BAL preliminary stage.

By missing out on a top two place in the Elite 16 stage, Knights couldn’t qualify to compete in the main championship.
