Public Relations Officer of Ghana Cycling, Dennis Moore, has slammed the over the top resources handed to Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, the Black Stars.

The vociferous advocate for least financed sports in Ghana made these comments in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports in the wake of Kofi Iddie Adams nomination as Minister Designate for the renamed Ministry of Sports and Recreation.

After sharing his thoughts on the potential impact the name of the Ministry would have on developing sports in Ghana, the long tenured sports journalist slammed the enormous attention and resources the Black Stars get at the expense of other sports disciplines and teams.

“The Black Stars attention has overtaken the essence of the least financed sports and that is one of my pain as a sports journalist in Ghana.”

Veteran Sports Journalist Dennis Moore

“For the past 47 years or so the Black Stars have never given the nation any trophy for us to cheer about on but why is it that Government keeps spending on the Black Stars. It’s the least financed sports that win laurels for the country when we go for the Commonwealth Games and Olympic Games.”
