Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has stated that his side deserved to win their Europa Clash with Rangers after Bruno Fernandes scored a stoppage time winner. United had dominated the game but conceded a late equalizer with 2 minutes of regular time remaining.
The Red Devils captain manged to secure the winner giving United a 4th Europa League win and keeping them unbeaten in the competition.
Speaking after the game Amorim was full of praise for his side:
“We didn’t deserve that draw at the moment, I think it was fair for us to win, a game that we already knew would be tough. In this moment, we started well. I think the pace of the game helped us because it’s different and you can feel it. We tried to do things.

We were better with the ball. we controlled the game well in the beginning, and then we lost control for seven minutes because of some bad passes and some transitions. But then I think we create the best chances to win the game and I think we deserve to win.”

Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho was singled out for praise by the Portuguese tactician. Garnacho is reportedly drawing interest from Napoli and Chelsea in the final days of the window. Amorim was full of praise for the young winger and indicated he was improving:

“I think he’s improving in every aspect of the game. He was better today, playing inside, also outside, and changing positions. He’s improving the recovery position. You can see it until 90 minutes, he’s always there recovering and helping. Sometimes showing some frustration and that is really good because he wants more. I think he has the potential to be so much better in every situation of the game.”

Manchester United will hope to record another good performance when they face Fulham on Sunday evening.
