A Vice Presidential Aspirant in the 2025 Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Nana Amankwah Kwakye, has called GHALCA a relevant football body even in the face of an apparent reduced influence in the Ghanaian football sphere.

“It is relevant. If it (GHALCA) wasn’t relevant, it wouldn’t be in the books of the (Ghana) Football Association so GHALCA is still relevant although its core mandate has been deviated. They (GHALCA) was a pressure body that fought the then military government for us to gain football independence so after gaining independence we became a pressure body to the main Football Association helping our member clubs in terms of logistics, advice those were the core principles of GHALCA.”

“When we departed from it, we have seen the drastic decline of Ghana football and that is what we want to bring back.”
