Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ghana to the Kingdom of Morocco, H.E. Mrs. Charity Gbedawo, paid a visit to the Black Queens at the Ibis Hotel in Casablanca on Tuesday, February 18.
Accompanied by embassy staff, H.E. Gbedawo congratulated the team on securing qualification for the Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) and reaffirmed the government’s unwavering support as they prepare for the tournament.
“I am very impressed with your performance so far, and Although you are here for a friendly match against the hosts, I believe you have the potential to return in July and perform even better.”

She further assured the team of the embassy’s efforts in rallying support from the Ghanaian community in Morocco.
“The embassy will ensure that Ghanaians here come out in full force to support you at the stadium on Friday and beyond. Play your hearts out, and I wish you all the best.”
Welcoming the delegation, Black Queens captain Portia Boakye expressed the team’s gratitude and reaffirmed their determination to deliver strong performances, both in friendly matches and at the WAFCON tournament in July.

The Black Queens are currently in Morocco for a training camp, where they will play preparatory matches against the Atlas Lionesses and AS FAR Rabat.
