The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Iddie Adams has vowed to ensure that those responsible for the recent violence at a football match are held accountable.
During a visit to Asante Kotoko Management on Friday, the Minister stated that justice will fall on all persons involved in the barbaric act that led to the death of Nana Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley.
“We will follow closely and be taking briefs from the IGP who has also shown much interest in the case…It’s unfortunate that our brother lost his life, but this has called attention to needed reforms in our football and sports,”

The Minister condemned the act and outlined his vision and commitment to implementing reforms in Ghana’s sports, especially football.
The chairman of the Interim Management Committee of Asante Kotoko, Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awuah, welcomed the Minister’s assurance, expressing confidence that justice will be secured.

Nana Pooley was stabbed to death at the Nana Konamansah II Stadium in Nsoatre during the GPL matchday 19 between Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC.
