Newly appointed Black Queens head coach, Kim Lars Björkegren, has outlined an ambitious vision for Ghana’s women’s national team, aiming to establish them as one of the top four teams in Africa.
The Swedish tactician, known for his experience in women’s football, believes the Black Queens have the quality to compete at the highest level and potentially win major tournaments.
“We have the absolute potential to win the tournament because we are good enough and have a lot of good players,” Björkegren stated confidently in his first major remarks since taking charge of the team.”
Despite his optimism, the coach acknowledged the challenges ahead, admitting that Ghana will face stiff competition from other African nations with similar aspirations.

“I must admit that it is not going to be easy, as most countries have the same goals and objectives as us,” he added.
Björkegren’s appointment has been met with excitement, with many hoping his vast experience will help transform the Black Queens into a dominant force on the continent.
Having previously managed top European women’s teams and worked with elite players, the Swedish coach is expected to bring fresh tactical ideas and a renewed sense of discipline to the squad.

Ghana’s Black Queens have a rich history in African women’s football but have struggled in recent years to reclaim their dominance.
With Björkegren at the helm, the team is looking to rebuild and challenge the likes of Nigeria, South Africa, and Morocco for supremacy in women’s football.
