Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, the Black Stars, asserted their dominance in Group I by beating Madagascar  3-0 in their Round Six  Group I CAF World Cup qualifier at the Grand Stade Al-Hoceima stadium in Morocco. The Black Stars headed into the fixture having thrashed Chad 5-0 and continued their impressive form this international break with the win over Madagascar.

Similar to the fixture in Accra, the Black Stars were quick to make their mark on the game scoring as early as the 11th minute when Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey connected with captain Jordan Ayew’s cross from a free kick to head home the first of the game. Ghana continued to threaten but couldn’t convert their opportunities.

Madagascar then grew into the game as the first half progressed and carved out decent chances for the themselves but Ghana was up to the task defensively seeing out the half.

The second half started with Ghana regaining control of the game and nine minutes in the Stars doubled the lead through the same duo; Jordan Ayew and Thomas Partey.

This time the Black Stars skipper whipped in a corner kick which Partey nodded in for his second of the game.

Ghana didn’t stopped there five minutes later Thomas Partey found Jordan Ayew who quickly played Mohammed Kudus and the West Ham forward made no mistake slotting home the third of the night.

Ghana was in complete control after the third and managed the remainder of the game fairly well possessing the ball and killing the momentum of their opponents.

The win puts Ghana in a commanding position at the top of Group I with 15 points. Madagascar sit second with 10 points and Mali sit in third place with nine points.
