Ghana’s Black Stars have taken a major step towards securing qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup after establishing a five point lead atop the standings in Group I.
The Black Stars beat Madagascar 3-0 in a FIFA qualifier played out in Morocco with the win being Ghana’s second in a row after beating Chad 5-0 prior to the Madagascar contest.
Two goals from Thomas Partey and a goal from Mohammed Kudus gave Ghana the win to improve its point tally to 15 from six games.
Madagascar stay in second place with 10 points from six games but are at the risk of getting usurped by Comoros should the island nation beat Chad on Tuesday, March 25.
Despite heading into the double header against Chad and Madagascar under a lot of pressure after failing to qualify to the 2025 AFCON, Ghana responded well to the tune of scoring eight goals and conceding no goal in the two qualifiers.
