Even after earning three caps for England’s National Men’s Football Team, Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, is still eligible to play for Ghana after spending over two years inactive for England’s Three Lions and not breaching the three international caps limit set by FIFA.
However, the 24 year old former Chelsea player is leaning towards making a return to England than making the international switch to play for Ghana.
In an interview with the BBC, Hudson-Odoi, who is eligible to play for Ghana via his Ghanaian ancestry, indicated that he is more focused on returning to England’s National Team setup.
“If the possibility and chance [for England] comes – I will have to go there and prove myself all over again” Hudson-Odoi said.

Ghana recently wrapped up competing in the latest African qualifiers to the 2026 FIFA World Cup by beating Chad 5-0 and beating Madagascar 3-0.

The Black Stars are in pole position to qualify from Group I to next year’s World Cup and have shown interest in Hudson-Odoi for a while. Hudson-Odoi last played for England in 2019 in a 4-0 win over Kosovo.
