Kpando Heart of Lions FC head coach Bashir Hayford is reveling in proving doubters wrong regarding his team’s chances of winning the 2024-2025 Ghana Premier League title.

Lions beat Medeama SC 1-0 at the Kpando Stadium with Ebenezer Abban scoring the winning goal in the 72nd minute.

Medeama captain Fatawu Sulemana blamed the state of the Kpando pitch for his team’s loss. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

In a post-game interview, Bashir Hayford was adamant about his team’s title winning chances despite being counted out as a title contender.

“People counted us out of the journey to the top because we slipped a little; with this win and Kotoko’s defeat, it means we have closed the gap. What it means to me is that we are closing the gap at the top…so it means a lot to me” Hayford said.
