The Southern Zone of the 2024/25 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League will bid farewell to Berry Ladies, who have officially been relegated following a turbulent campaign.

The Madina-based side endured a season to forget, picking up just 7 points from 18 matches while conceding a league-high 36 goals- the worst performance across both zones.

Once known for their flair and attacking promise, Berry Ladies failed to find their rhythm and now dropped into the lower division for the upcoming season.

Elsewhere in the South, the survival fate of Halifax Queens and Faith Ladies hangs in the balance. Both sides finished tied on 13 points, 8th and 9th respectively after 18 rounds, and also drew 1-1 in both of their head-to-head encounters.

Their destiny will now be settled in a relegation playoff, with the Domestic Competitions Committee and the Competitions Department of the Ghana Football Association expected to announce the date and venue of the decider on Monday.

In the Northern Zone, Sung Shinning Ladies and Supreme Ladies have officially dropped out of the top flight.

Wa-based Sung Shinning Ladies were the first to go, finishing bottom of the table with just 8 points. Despite being newcomers to the elite division, their debut campaign proved too steep to climb.

Kumasi-based Supreme Ladies joined them on the final day. Though they earned a hard-fought 2-1 win over Dreamz Ladies in a thrilling Ashanti regional derby, results elsewhere did not favor them. The victory wasn’t enough to escape the drop.

Both clubs will now regroup in the lower division next season, hoping to fight their way back to the top.
