The Ghana Armwrestling Federation (GAF) met with Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) Comptroller-General Samuel Basintale Amadu on May 20, 2025, to strengthen ties and congratulate him on his appointment.
GAF President Charles Osei Asibey highlighted GIS’s contributions to armwrestling since 2016, including producing national team captain Edward Asamoah and world referee Nii Otoo Larkyne.
He noted GIS’s role in Ghana’s 41-medal haul at the 2023 Africa Games and urged further sports investment to enhance the service’s image.
Amadu acknowledged GIS’s sports history, pledged to revitalise its sports teams, and thanked GAF for their support.
A medal was presented to symbolise the enduring GAF-GIS partnership.

Attendees included senior GIS officers, GAF Vice President Dr. Kofi Addo Agyekum, Berekum West MP Dickson Kyere Duah, and GAF members Husseini Akueteh Addy, Godfrey Amarteifio, Prosper Ashiquaye, and Phillipina Frimpong.
