Atalanta head coach Gianpiero Gasperini has praised the efforts of Ghana midfielder after the latter’s brilliant performance got Atalanta to officially secure qualification to the UEFA Champions League campaign for next season.
Suelmana scored a stunning goal in the 76th minute to give Atalanta a 2-1 win over AS Roma in the Italian Serie A on Monday, May 13.
A ball from Ademola Lookman broke just in front of the penalty box and Sulemana struck the ball powerfully into the right bottom side of the net.
The Black Stars player has largely struggled for minutes with Atalanta playing just eight games this season in all competitions with the goal against Roma being his first for the club.
“He scored a true stunner and I’m really for him. Of course, I did [enjoy watching score the goal]. I’m genuinely delighted for him because he’s a top lad with the utmost education and respect” Gasperini said.

Atalanta rank third in the Serie A with 71 points with two games remaining in the league campaign. Scroll down to watch Ibrahim Sulemana’s debut goal for Atalanta.
