President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has expressed pride in the four teams that competed in this past weekend’s Women’s Football Festival held at the University of Ghana Stadium.

The festival featured two major finals; the Women’s FA Cup and the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League; with four clubs vying not only for silverware but also for a place on the continental stage.

Faith Ladies, Jonina Ladies, Ampem Darkoa Ladies, and Police Ladies all participated in what turned out to be an exciting day for women’s football in Ghana.

In the FA Cup final, Faith Ladies, who have struggled in the league this season, pulled off a dramatic upset against Jonina Ladies, securing victory deep into extra time.

Meanwhile, Police Ladies stunned defending champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies to win their first-ever league title, ending Ampem Darkoa’s dominance.

GFA President Kurt Okraku praised all four teams for their performance and contribution to the growth of the women’s game in Ghana.
