Nations FC Chief Executive Officer Kwame Twumasi-Dankwah has resigned after four years with the club, leaving in the wake of Nations FC’s near Ghana Premier League title winning campaign.

His departure marks the end of a brilliant run that saw Nations FC rise from the Access Bank Division One League to missing out on winning the GPL after suffering a 2-0 loss to Kpando Heart of Lions on the final day of the 2024-2025 season.

Twumasi-Dankwah took the helm of Nations FC in 2021 and under his stewardship, the club gained promotion from the Access Bank Division One League Zone Two to the Ghana Premier League in just one season.

The 2024/25 season had Nations FC record an impressive second place finish in the Ghana Premier League, narrowly missing the title to Bibiani Gold Stars.

The reasons for Twumasi-Dankwah’s resignation remain undisclosed, but his departure comes at a time of heightened scrutiny about the club after it abandoned its penultimate league game against Basake Holy Stars over alleged security concerns.

Citi Sports sources suggest he may pursue new opportunities, potentially in football administration.
