Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club head coach, Abdul Karim Zito, has described his team’s loss to Vision FC as a wakeup call ahead of Kotoko’s 2025 MTN FA Cup Final game against Golden Kick which takes place on Sunday, June 15 at the University of Ghana Stadium.

Kotoko got dominated in the second half en route to a 3-1 loss to Vision FC at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex on the final day of the 2024-2025 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season.

The loss to Vision effectively ended Kotoko’s chances of winning the GPL with the Porcupine Warriors going into the game as part of a three team battle for the trophy.

Bibiani Gold Stars won the title after beating Accra Lions 4-0 and in a post-game interview, Zito described the loss as a wakeup call as Kotoko prepares for this weekend’s game.

“The positive side of this game is, is a wakeup call for the [FA Cup] Finals I’m going to play. I’m not too much worried…I’m happy to see it now because it will also help me to rearrange my boys well for the finals” Zito said.
