Publicist for Thomas Partey, Samuel Zigah, has emphasised the significance of the second edition of the Thomas Partey Foundation Tournament, describing it as deeply important to the Black Stars Vice-Captain. He explained that the initiative is part of Thomas Partey’s commitment to giving back to the people of Ghana by supporting underprivileged but talented young footballers.
This year’s competition features 12 youth teams comprised of promising talents from across the country, all competing not just for the ultimate trophy, but also for the invaluable opportunity to impress both local and international scouts.

So far, scouts from Ghana and Europe have been present throughout the first three days of the event, providing a vital platform to discover and nurture the next generation of Ghanaian football stars.
Speaking to CitiSports after the commencement of the tournament’s second edition, Samuel Zigah revealed that Thomas Partey himself was a product of grassroots football, having risen through the ranks under difficult circumstances — a story that fuels his passion to support young talents facing similar challenges.
“The tournament is super important to Thomas Partey; he wants to give back to his motherland, Ghana.
“Thomas has been a great beneficiary to local football, rose through the ranks from the dusty pitches of Ghana to the topmost pitches in the World.”
“Back then, he didn’t have such an opportunity, and he is giving back to the people, so that they have a chance at professional football.”
“The tournament has come to stay, and it is a way to give back to the people of Ghana”.
“It’s super important to Thomas, because he wants to give back to his mother, Ghana. Back then, he didn’t get this kind of opportunity.” – Samuel Zigah
