Ahead of Friday July 11’s game against Mali in the 2024 CAF Women’s AFCON at 16:00 GMT, Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has described the upcoming game as a “difficult” and “tricky” one.

He said this in a pre-game interview with CAF as Ghana’s National Women’s Football Team prepares to take on Mali knowing that a loss all but ends the team’s run in this year’s AFCON.

Ghana lost 2-0 to South Africa in its opening game while a win over Ghana qualifies Mali to the next round of the competition after picking up a 1-0 win over Tanzania in the opening round of games.

After hoping for better luck in front of goal against Mali, Kim Bjorkegren admitted that playing against the West African nation would be difficult. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“We are playing against a good team. They have especially a couple of good attacking players so it’s going to be a difficult one, a little bit tricky I will say. “

“We have spent many hours watching the opponents so we know their strengths and weaknesses…so the most important thing is that we attack this game in our way.”
