Head coach of Ghana’s National Women’s Football Team Kim Lars Bjorkegren is hoping that his team is a bit lucky in front of goal against Mali than it was against South Africa.

Ghana lost 2-0 to South Africa in its opening game at the 2024 CAF Women’s AFCON in Morocco and take on Mali on Friday, July 11 at 16:00 GMT.

Mali, unlike Ghana, won their opening game against Tanzania (1-0) and are looking for another win to guarantee their qualification to the next round in the tournament and Black Queens head coach Lars Bjorkegren is counting on lady luck smiling on his team on Friday.

“We hit the bar twice [against South Africa] and we did everything right if we take away the most important thing [to score goals] but hopefully we will have a little bit more luck in the next round” Bjorkegren said at a pre-game presser in the presence of Black Queens player Jennifer Cudjoe.
