Ahead of a semifinal clash against Morocco on Tuesday, July 22 at 19:00 GMT in the ongoing CAF Women’s AFCON in Morocco, head coach of Ghana’s National Women’s Football Team, Kim Lars Bjorkegren, is confident his team can exploit weaknesses in Morocco’s unit.
He said this in a pre-game press conference ahead of the big game which is Ghana’s first semifinal appearance at the AFCON since 2016.
Ghana beat Algeria 4-2 on penalties after the quarterfinal game ended goalless at the end of regulation time and extra time. While highlighting that his first loss as Black Queens head coach was a 1-0 loss to Morocco on January 21, 2025, he noted that Morocco have weaknesses.
“I know the team pretty well. My first game for Ghana as head coach was against Morocco.”

“It was a tight game, we had our chances to win the game, in the end we lost…we also saw that we had the chances to win that type of game. Like all of the teams, they have some weaknesses as well so we just need to push hard there.”

Should Ghana beat Morocco, the Black Queens would take on either South Africa or Nigeria in the finals.
