Black Queens midfielder Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah has stated that she is taking competing in the CAF Women’s AFCON for the first time in her career, in stride.
The 29 year old English born player only made her debut with Ghana’s National Women’s Football Team in April this year and is competing in her debut AFCON campaign.
Speaking in a pre-game interview ahead of a must win game against Tanzania on Monday, July 14 at 19:00 GMT, Boye-Hlorkah, who has competed in both games Ghana has competed in Morocco, made it known that she is hoping to be to be more settled against Tanzania.
“It’s a brand new experience. It’s a different game from what I’m used to. There’s a lot of talent, the heat as well; everyone knows that is hot but I’m taking it in my stride, I’m still putting my feet on the ground. Hopefully in the game [against Tanzania] that I can be myself, I will be more settled, I can help the team to where we want to be.”
A win over Tanzania qualifies Ghana to the quarterfinals.
