Under 24 hours after the sacking of former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer by Turkish Super League side Besiktas, fellow Turkish side Fenerbache have followed suit by letting go of Jose Mourinho who coached Man United in his legendary career.
Mourinho and Fenerbache “parted ways” per a club statement in the wake of Fenerbache’s failure to qualify to the UEFA Champions League. The club lost 1-0 to Portuguese side Benfica in the qualifiers to crash out on a 1-0 aggregate loss with the first leg of the tie ending goalless in Istanbul.
Under Mourinho, Fenerbache missed out on winning the Turkish League to arch rivals Galatasaray who also beat Fenerbache en route to winning the Turkish Cup.
Mourinho’s time at the club would be most remembered for his strong criticism about officiating in Turkey and his controversial comments about Galatasaray players that he denied as a racist comment.

In a related development, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who replaced Mourinho following his exit from Man United, was sacked less than an hour after Besiktas lost 1-0 at home to Lausanne to fail to qualify to the UEFA Conference League.
