New Villarreal signing Thomas Partey has completed his first training session after joining the club officially as a free agent earlier this week.

The reported two year deal sees the Ghanaian international midfielder return to Spain after excelling with Atletico Madrid prior to his move to English Premier League side Arsenal FC.

In a video posted on Villarreal’s X (formerly Twitter) page, Partey was spotted in Villarreal’s gear looking sharp and actively participating in the training session.

32 Year old Thomas Partey’s return to Spain has been engulfed in controversy due to the fallout from his ongoing legal issue over rape and sexual assault charges involving three women.

Five counts of rape involving two women and one count of sexual assault involving another women in England have been slapped on Partey.

The Black Stars Deputy Captain made an appearance at a Westminster Court on August 5 where he was granted conditional bail and as part of the bail conditions, he isn’t allowed to speak with any of the women involved in the case.

He is set to reappear in court on September 2 and his signing has drawn heavy criticism including a supporters Villarreal group. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
