France star Ousmane Dembele is likely to miss six weeks of action due to a hamstring injury he picked up while playing for the national team.
Dembele got injured in France’s 2-0 win over Ukraine in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers with Michael Olise and Kylian Mbappe bagging the goals for Les Blues.
However, Paris Saint-Germain winger Dembele injured his hamstring and had to leave the pitch in the first half and the extent of his injury got confirmed after the game.
According to journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Dembele will be out for six weeks; he will miss key games against Olympique Marseille in the French Ligue 1 and against Atalanta and FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League.
After delivering a standout performance in the 2024-2025 season, Dembele is heavily tipped to win the Ballon D’or on September 22.

Kingsley Coman, formerly of Bayern Munich, has been called from his new club Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, as Dembele’s replacement.

In a related development, PSG’s Desire Doue picked up a reported calf injury in the win over Ukraine. France take on Iceland next on Tuesday, September 9.
