Rising women’s football star Michelle Agyemang has suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injury and has been ruled out for the season.
In the process, Agyemang, who is of Ghanaian descent, will miss England’s international friendly game against Ghana on December 2.
The Black Queens of Ghana recently sealed qualification to the 2026 CAF Women’s AFCON on the back of winning bronze at the 2024 edition.
The 19 year old suffered the devastating injury during England’s 3-0 win over Australia in a friendly and had to be stretchered off. The injury was a non-contact injury.
Agyemang was part of England’s squad that won the Women’s Euros earlier this year after triumphing over Spain in the final.

The win sealed England’s second Euros title win in a row and Agyemang played a key role in the success by scoring crucial goals in the knockout stages.

Her brilliant performances got her to win the tournament’s young player award while getting nominated for the Women’s Kopa Award (Best Young Player Award) at this year’s Ballon D’Or.

Agyemang, who is on loan from Arsenal at Brighton and Hove in the Women’s Super League, has five starts in six league games this season.
