Head coach of Ghana’s Black Stars, Otto Addo, has said that he hopes for long term Black Stars injury related absentees to return healthy to make his work “difficult” ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Next year’s World Cup takes place in the USA, Canada and Mexico and Ghana is on the brink of qualifying to the grand competition for the fifth time in its history.

Ghana takes on Central African Republic (C.A.R.) on Wednesday, October 8 at 16:00 GMT in Morocco and Comoros on Sunday, October 12 at 19:00 GMT in Accra to close out its World Cup qualification campaign.

Ahead of the game against C.A.R., Otto Addo spoke highly of Fatawu Issahaku and Alidu Seidu who have made a strong return from injury to get back into the team and added that he prays other injured players will do same. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“There’s also Tariq Lamptey and we have long term injuries like with [Abdul] Mumin, Ernest Nuamah and I’m just praying for them to get back and truly it will make my work difficult to decide who comes to the squad or not but this is what we want we want the best possible squad.”
