Minister of Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams has implied that the absence of a sports fund has affected activities related to the field over the years.

In an interview with the media on the sidelines of the University for Development Studies (UDS)’s World University Games Football Title presentation to President John Mahama, the Sports Minister highlighted the importance of establishing the sports fund.

“Government is introducing a sports fund; we will have a well-structured funding for sports. We do not have that and because we do not have a fund the way we have for education, for health, its’ actually challenged our support for sports and sporting activities so the government has decided to establish a sports fund.”

“Through the government itself and through many other sources, we will be able to put money in there to use in the development of sports.”
