FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has welcomed the penultimate international break in the 2025 calendar year after suffering a big loss in the Spanish La Liga.
Barcelona lost 4-1 to Sevilla with Robert Lewandowski missing a crucial penalty in the 76th minute that could have altered the outcome of the game as Sevilla scored twice after the 90th minute to record the big win.
Speaking in a post-game presser after Barcelona’s second loss in a row, Hansi Flick, highlighted the benefits of having a break in the team’s schedule.
“We have to accept this defeat and look at the positive side. In the first half we made a lot of mistakes, but in the second half we were able to react”

“The international break this October will do us good” he added. “When the players come back from their national teams, we’ll work hard to help them regain their best form” Flick said to Barcelona media.

The loss puts Barcelona second in the league with 19 points and two points behind leaders Real Madrid.
