Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has described his team’s performance against German side Bayern Munich as “outstanding” in the wake of the Gunners’ 3-1 win over Bayern in the UEFA Champions League.
Substitutes Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli proved to be the deciding factors as both players returned from injury to score in the 69th and 77th minute respectively at the time the score was tied at 1-1.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Declan Rice, who won the Man of the Man Award, was happy with the win but called on his teammates to not get carried away by the win over the hitherto unbeaten Bayern Munich.
“Look at Bayern Munich this season, they have been the best team in Europe. This was probably the toughest game tactically we have played this season.”

“We went man to man with them in the second half and I thought tonight we were outstanding. The manager is so happy. It was a special European night.”

“There is a hunger and desire to win every game. There is a long way to go – let’s not get carried away” Rice said.

Arsenal are the only team yet to lose a game in the 2025-2026 UEFA Champions League at the time of writing.
