Black Galaxies squad for friendly game against South Africa confirmed

Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team exclusively for home based players, the Black Galaxies, are scheduled to play a friendly game against South Africa on December 16.

The friendly game was confirmed on Tuesday, December 9 by the Ghana Football Association (GFA); the upcoming game will serve as a pre-AFCON friendly for the Bafana Bafana.

Ghana failed to qualify to the competition but South Africa did qualify and have been drawn in Group B with Angola, Egypt and Zimbabwe in arguably the toughest group in the tournament that commences on December 21 in Morocco.

The Black Galaxies will fly out to play the friendly game in Gauteng and ahead of the encounter Black Galaxies head coach Kassim Mingle Ocansey has named a 20-man squad.

Ghana Premier League leaders Medeama Sporting Club have the highest number of players in the team with the Tarkwa-based side having five players named.

Rudolf Mensah

Kelvin Nkrumah, Kamaradini Mamudu and Prince Owusu, who have received call-ups to the Black Stars in recent months, lead the Medeama contingent in the Black Galaxies.

After starring Swedru All Blacks fine start to the season on its return to the elite division, striker Rudolf Mensah and defender Abdul Aziz have been included in the squad. Scroll down to view the full list of call-ups
